SJOB Movement - A Move in the Right Direction (1974) [Remastered 2009]

Solid funk from the Nigerian 1970's heyday, this band features former members of Sonny Okosun's group who tired of their meager pay and struck out on their own, and boy are we glad they did-- solid funky groovy african rock sounds. One of these tracks appeared on Soundway's "Nigeria Disco Funk" collection, but they really stretch out with lots of different grooves here, far from being anything like a straight "disco" group, equal parts rock, soul, funk, disco, pop, and traditional African sounds.
