Jenny Davis - Rearranged (2020)

Pushed to the creative edge, in her latest release, Rearranged, Jenny Davis is inspired by a devotion to human rights advocacy. Attracting collaboration from both jazz and cross-genre arrangers and featuring an all-star cast, the project showcases 17 world-class musicians, including: multi-Grammy nominated pianist, Jovino Santos Neto, (featured in October 2019 on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series), New York’s Sirius String Quartet, featuring award-winning violinist Gregor Huebner, Chuck Deardorf, Jeff Busch, Mark Taylor, Kate Olson, Cynthia Mullis, Jim Dejoie, Kurt Festinger, Heather Bentley and celebrated flugelhornist, Dmitri Matheny.

Davis' exploration and journey as an instrumental composer led her to a new landscape in scoring, from saxophone quartet to string quartet, and the realization that she could find expression through the music with or without lyrics. With notable musical contributions from guest arrangers, performers and producers on both U.S. coasts, the album reflects the love and light it was created to release. Rearranged is Jenny’s fourth album and is co-produced by Davis and Philadelphia producer JohnPaul Beattie, and released under Three Penny Records.
