Danny Malone is an Austin-based singer & songwriter celebrated for his ultra-inward songwriting and lyrically captivating universe. Malone’s music and writing invite you on a journey by way of intensely intimate memories and engaging emotional touchpoints in his life. His music conveys truth, love and passion combined into an incredible gift of storytelling that is backed by indie-pop phrases which remain in your conscious well after the song has ended.
Danny's career has experienced a whirlwind of highs and lows that both define and refine what it is to be an artist on the brink. Many musicians and critics uphold him in the highest regard for his talent and ability to create songs that grab you emotionally. Danny’s ”indie among indies” spirit often hinders him from the industry mandated standards of record, release, tour and promote. He is content to serve a life sentence in the studio laying down track after track as a means of music therapy and psychological development. Over the past several years much of the studio work he has completed has remained unreleased.
In 2018, long time fan, friend and supporter Eric Panico volunteered to become Danny's manager to see how he could help alleviate the burden of promotion and industry interaction. He solicited help from the Austin non-profit mobile studio Transient Mic, an organization dedicated to the recording and preservation of sound. Danny was featured on their 4 Track Series podcast and a relationship of collaboration was born.
Working with Transient Mic the decision was made to push the release of an album caught up in the web of red tape and murkiness of contracts and intellectual property. Originally recorded and slated to release in 2018, We the Tigress, They the Wildebeast will finally have its play in February of 2020. Its debut is the catalyst to push Danny forward with plans to record another album of new work produced by Transient Mic. Danny's team has additional plans to release studio recordings that were originally intended to be released on an album titled SkyBoy and the re-release of his 2009 album Cuddlebug.
The future looks brighter for Danny Malone and we hope he’s grounded in the support of those around him. We already know that this man can write heart-wrenching songs and now it’s time to embrace his work in a broader sense- in a communal sense that brings out the best of what Danny has to offer audiences around the world.
