Mike Morgan - Guitar (Left Channel)
Jim Suhler - Guitar, Vocals
Keith Ferguson, Grady Grisby - Bass
Mike Buck, Marc Wilson - Drums
Tim Alexander - Organ and Piano
The Dallas-born Morgan was drawn to the blues by hearing Stevie Ray Vaughan; he also studied the work of the fabulous Thunderbirds, Anson Funderburgh and Ronnie Earl. In the mid-'80s he formed The Crawl with Darrell Nullisch, who was later replaced by Lee McBee. The band worked extensively in the Southwest and Europe, and during the '90s recorded for Black Top. Suhler born in Dallas too (1960), was well known in that city's blues bars by the mid-'80s. He added to his guitar style rock'n'roll. Suhler have good voice and played with own band Monkey Beat. His guitar sound is glassy, slashing and incisive; Morgan is brawny, rugged and retro. This is his first recorded collaboration. This recorded it's straight, no chaser, and his music has fire. Fire is a natural thing. Guitarists can acquire speed, style, flash, and fury. Fire is more elemental. A player either has it or he doesn't. Mike Morgan and Jim Suhler have tons of it. The Morgan/Suhler coalition comprises two guitarists of maturity and depth, who solo explosively but inventively, and share a great sense of dynamics.
