Powerful guitar sounds and a catchy Latino rhythm: Loco Escrito is going to present his new single “Maria” on 11 October 2019 and will at the same time announce his long-awaited studio album. “Estoy Bien” is the title of the long-player which includes 14 tracks and will be released on 31 January 2020.
With “Maria”, Loco Escrito is publishing his new single on 11 October and at the same time, he will start pre-sales of his long-awaited studio album. With four consecutive awards for record sales, the Swiss Latin star is one of the most successful single artists in Switzerland over the past two years. After “Punto” and “uiui”, “Maria” will be his third title in 2019. The Zurich resident makes use of traditional tunes and is for the first time employing a voice register which is unusually low for him. “Maria” is about the attraction of the foreign and unknown and the lure of getting involved with it. In the song, Maria represents this alluring being who pulls the rug out from under Loco's feet with her smile and whisks him away to a new world. Loco himself describes the song as being “fresh and very sexy”.
The release of the new single “Maria” coincides with the pre-sale of his new album which will be released at the end of January 2020. “Estoy Bien” is the name of the long-player which describes the changes in his life over the past five years. Loco gets his inspiration from life itself: the serious motorcycle accident, the birth of his daughter and his musical breakthrough. “It is a very personal album. The title ‘Estoy Bien’ means ‘I am well’”.
The new album was recorded over the last six months in Colombia and Switzerland. It was produced by Henrik Amschler who already played a part in the big hits “Sin Ti”, “Adiós”, “Mi Culpa” and “Punto”, among others. Many different musical influences are to be found on “Estoy Bien”, ranging from rock to pop and cumbia, a style of music from Colombia.
The release of the single “Maria” on 11 October 2019 will coincide with the release of the corresponding music video, which was filmed on the picturesque Canary Island of Fuerteventura – beautiful landscapes, a stunning Maria and a catchy song. The album “Estoy Bien” is being released on 31 January. 2020 will be loco!
