Dario Congedo Trio - Don't Quit (2020)

On January 30th Don’t quit, the new album by Salento drummer and composer Dario Congedo, is officially released in record stores and on digital platforms. Produced by the Workin 'Label, for the distribution of IRD, it is a totally instrumental album that moves between contemporary European jazz and avant-garde, and which contains eight original songs, composed and arranged by him, played in trio together with Dorian Dumont and Federico Pecoraro.

After excluding the idea of ​​the jazz trio in his two previous works as a band leader (Nàdan in 2009 and Calligrafie in 2013), Dario Congedo decides to approach the new record with one of the most used formulas in the jazz field: the trio consisting of a pianist, a bassist / double bass player and a drummer. A particular universe in itself, a world where each musician is equally exposed, where interplay reigns supreme, suggesting melodies and harmonious territories. "My desire - declares Dario Congedo - is to reach the listener beyond the musical definitions of genre".

Dont 'quit, the album title, is also the name of the first track, useful to mark the listening path and explicit invitation to "not give up", not to stop, to continue looking for yourself, spurring growth and to change. Each track, in general, represents an introspective moment dedicated to self-knowledge: the observation of one's inner world that creates the surrounding reality, through difficulties and experiences of various kinds.
