Jazz trumpeter Bert Joris has built a solid reputation as an improviser and composer. In 2006 he made Dangerous Liaison, a recording in which he combined the big-band power of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra with the symphonic sound of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic. Out of this successful collaboration grew a brand-new orchestral suite for jazz quartet and symphonic orchestra. In this live recording at De Roma, Antwerps most splendid art deco cinema and concert hall, Martyn Brabbins conducts the Royal Flemish Philharmonic.
