Heather Myles' powerful vocals and clever songwriting-married with her love of the West Coast Bakersfield sound and traditional roots convention-recalls classic female country singers like Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and Tammy Wynette. She proved with her debut album, Just Like Old Times, to be at the forefront of the alt-country scene that later blossomed into the Americana genre.
