Rolando Bruno and His MIDI Orchestra (cumbia chicha)
Is the solo project of Rolando Bruno (Ex- Los Peyotes guitar) that began in 2005 in his room with his best friend: the computer. The Peruvian 60s curiosity led him to know the magical world of “psychedelic beat” Cumbia, sounds with full of fuzz, wah wah guitars and farfisa organs. So he started creating MIDI based tracks of the Peruvian Cumbia greatest hits, in his magic room.
Rolando comes from Argentina and now reside in Valencia (Spain). He plays the guitar and sing accompanied by his orchesta directed from its small ipod, with feeling, his shows are hot dance guarantee fun for everyone, where the cumbia , dancing and "bizarre stuff" shake hands. No one can sit still, or serious, Rolando offered an invitation to the Amazon and Machu Pichu, you can feel like a “Llama” or Anaconda dancer.
Besides having countless shows in Buenos Aires toured with his “Orquesta MIDI” places like Chile, Uruguay, Brazil and Spain. Now is launching their 2nd EP titled "Cumbia Reaction" four 60s garage beat songs in cumbia style, available in vinyl "7.
Influences? Late 60s, 70s, 80s Peruvian Cumbia like Chacalon y la nueva Crema, Los Destellos, los Pakines, Los Mirlos, Los Shapis, Juaneco y su Combo, and of course all the 60s music.
