In 1983, Ian “Stu” Stewart who was the mastermind behind the Rocket 88 band and the the De Luxe Blues Band, not to mention the Rolling Stones, decided once again to produce another album for the De Luxe Blues Band. He had previously produced the De Luxe’s second of their 8 albums (A Street Car Named De Luxe, 1981 DA Legacy 16). However, on this occasion he opted to turbo charge the original format by bringing in Charlie Watts on drums and Boogie Woogie maestro George Green. And of course, Stu made his own very wonderful piano contributions to several songs (The Stumble etc).
On a January afternoon in 1983, everyone assembled at the Shepperton Film Studios sound stage. By about 10 PM that evening, they had not only finished a complete album (De Luxe Blues Band 1983, DA Legacy 17) but also these wonderful previously unissued songs and alternate takes that you see before you now. Let the feast begin.
