An American record producer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter, Chris Price was already an established musician and engineer when he released his debut solo album, Homesick, in 2012. Born Kristian Price Perez in Miami, Florida, Price is the son of Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Rudy Pérez. His first band, the aptly named Price, was a family affair with siblings Michael and Corey, and drummer Alex Ibanez. The group inked a deal with Geffen Records shortly after forming, and relocated to Los Angeles. The project yielded a handful of singles -- two of which found their way into feature films -- and an unreleased LP before calling it quits in 2009. That same year saw Price begin working on a power pop project with Rooney guitarist Taylor Locke. Operating under the moniker Taylor Locke & the Roughs, the group released two full-length LPs, Grain & Grape and Marathon, in 2010, followed by a concert album, Live at Rosalita's, in 2012. The following year saw Price co-produce The Soul of All Natural Things, the highly anticipated sophomore album by '70s psych-folk singer Linda Perhacs, her first in 44 years. He also began working with power pop icon Emitt Rhodes on his first collection of new music since the early '70s. The resulting Rainbow Ends was released in 2016. Stop Talking, Price's sophomore solo outing, arrived the following year. ~ James Christopher Monger.
