The first stereophonic masterpiece by Lymany, acclaimed by Rachmaninoff, becomes the first SACD!
Passionate performance that can be called the decision board on SACD. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Lymphny's birth.
Mora Limpney (1916-2005) 100th anniversary release. Her passionate performance, which was acclaimed by Rachmaninoff before his birth, is revived at SACD. This 1960 edition (formerly EMI) was recorded after the old monaural hit that became a global hit, and her only stereo recording of this song. The original album also includes Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No.3. For this reprint, a new mastering was performed separately for the SACD layer and the CD layer using a 96kHz / 24bit digital master from the home country master. It is a permanent storage board.
The recording of Piano Concerto No. 2 by Rachmaninoff's renowned specialist, Lymphny, was a commercially successful record with a monophonic 1954 edition also recorded on an old EMI label (Philharmonia, conducted by Nikolai Marco). . In the monaural period, we left many recordings on DECCA and old EMI, but in the stereo period, there are not many sound sources. Only a few concertos and solo works such as Chopin were left in the early stereo, and only a very small recording was left in the 1970s. In the digital recording period, there were small items and debussy on the old EMI label. If you put in a small amount of ERATO recordings from the 1990s, there are few sound sources in later years. Of course, the stereo recording of Piano Concerto No. 2 is only on the main board (No. 3 is only monaural), and it can be said that it is a rare sound source that conveys the essence of Lymphny, who has been claimed as a specialist, to the present day. In addition, Argerich has no sound source for this song, but if she plays it, passionate and high-quality performances are being performed that might be close to this lymphatic. At SACD, the listener can respond more sensitively to the strong keystroke of the piano and the touch of attention when touching the details, and even in the dialogue with the backing orchestra, the reaction and the way to get on her piano I think you can feel it. From the beginning of the stereo, this masterpiece that had been evaluated as one of the definitive masterpieces of this song, but had been treated cold when the CD was reprinted has finally revived in a form close to the first appearance!
The original album includes 3 songs from 24 preludes, so we recorded them in this order as they are. The margin is coupled with Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 recorded in 1956. This song may be a very early stereo recording of the old EMI, so there is little separation and the sound quality is closer to the center, but please understand that it is a unique condition at this time.
