After finishing the original recording of Slade, there was an almost insoluble problem for the band to find a replacement for the absolutely unique voice of Noddy Holder. Actually, impossible, but see, with Steve Whalley, you're doing a shouter, which is, of course, not a substitute, but fits with its own rough tone. Live at least this line-up has worked for about 15 years super. Then Mr.Whalley had his own plans and went to Solopade. For the band began a constant search for replacement for the replacement, but unfortunately unsuccessfully. The present album is very similar to the last original albums, in my opinion even better than for example. Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome. Surely not a century album, but there is Pink Floyd! Here we offer the best house mannkost.Footstomping straighter rock, somewhere between Glam and Hardrock. Particularly outstanding: Dirty Footlane, a very folky number with the use of Scottish pipes and respect, very nice vocals by Dave Hill. As a bonus, there is Merry Xmas Now, another Christmas song. This is the mother of all Christmas songs from Slade from 1973 Merry Xmas Everybody in no way, Christmas is also a little like Glam Rock, much tinsel and so ........ ~ Mr.Roggenrohl (google)

Amazed to see these guys are still going on, as they forgot to write songs and get (financial) credits for it to ensure their old age. Having said that I have good memories of seeing them live in 1974.
