The early music ensemble Graindelavoix is a collective of singers and instrumentalists who work across many disciplines to achieve their creative goals. Formed by ethnomusicologist Björn Schmelzer in 1999, the Antwerp-based ensemble experiments with the possibilities of the voice in a variety of contexts, not only in singing chant and polyphony, but also with techniques of intonation, improvisation, ornamentation, and other aspects of Medieval and Renaissance music. A special guest at the Muziekcentrum De Bijloke in Ghent, Graindelavoix is also a partner with the Cultuurcentrum in Genk, Belgium.
