REVIEW
It's rare we get to champion an eight track EP these days but that's exactly what Denis Sulta has gone ahead and done for Ninja Tune. After some industrious years putting out tracks for Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Numbers and his own Sulta Selects, these 8 tracks see Sultas style divebomb into more adventurous and colourful territories than ever before. With numbers like "It's Tough, But Not As Much As The Dream Is Worth" delivering abstract drums and distortion over detuned vocal samples and gritty phasing techniques, the general theme across the record is dirty drums, noise floor and funky deconstruction of grooves next to synths that are expressive, colourful, melodic and way-out there. With techno, house and experimental inspirations abound, this is Sulta's most defining work yet. Dark and dope.
