Product Description
Benjamin Wallfisch recently won Best Score - Special Feature for Summer In February at The Hollywood Music In Media Awards.
One of the most virtuoso pianists on the DG roster, Yuja Wang performs piano solos and piano with orchestra on the soundtrack album.
The score was composed by Benjamin Wallfisch. He has worked with Italian composer Dario Marianelli for years, especially on the Oscar & Golden Globe winning score to Atonement, as well as the award winning scores to Pride & Prejudice, Jane Eyre, The Soloist, and the latest film Anna Karenina.
The story of the film: The Newlyn School of artists flourished at the beginning of the 20th Century. Based on a true story, the film focuses on the wild and bohemian Lamorna Group, which included Alfred Munnings, Laura and Harold Knight. The incendiary anti-Modernist Munnings, now regarded as one of Britains most sought-after artists, is at the center of the complex love triangle, involving aspiring artist Florence Carter-Wood and Gilbert Evans, the land agent in charge of the Lamorna Valley estate. True - and deeply moving - the story is played out against the timeless beauty of the Cornish coast, in the approaching shadow of The Great War.
Starring Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia), Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) and Emily Browning (Sucker Punch). Directed by Christopher Menaul.
