Makoto Holmberg - Disgelo (2019)

Disgelo is the first album of Makoto Holmberg, released after two ep, Slow Night (2016) and No Time for Beauty (2018). In this album we can find different elements. In fact Andrea did not isolate himself in the dark and cold environment typical of ambient music, but he mixed more moods, partly inspired by the sounds of Neapolitan music (his hometown), but also by hardcore and minimalism adopted by artists like Arca, Thom Yorke etc. The references to the Hyperdub productions are strong, with clear references to artists such as Burial and Doon Kanda. Background noise is constant, obtained through the use of field recording. In this work the music of Makoto Holmberg, which has always been cold and dark, begins to melt and mix with his traditions and his memories, going to recreate a nostalgic environment that tries to isolate you from the world, until you get spit it out immediately after the last track.
