This album has been a pleasure, and at sometimes, a struggle to put together. Originally scheduled for May of this year 2019 and passing that month by 6 months it is now ready to bestowed onto you. There were series of set backs after set backs but after lots of things in life preventing me from completing the album I'm pleased to say that I'm now able to release this second Fabric of Reality Project album.
I was struggling for a title for this album but after all the problems and unforeseen problems that came up, I thought it's present title sums it all up.
I had 7 tracks recorded and decided on the selection these 5 we have here. The album was going to be called Airys, a slight play on the word to actually mean, a country I was featuring. It is the main epic feature of 5 parts. A homage to a place in that country. My inspiration came from two journalists caught up civil war and they were at the heart of it all, reporting on the situation. Namely: Paul Conroy and Marie Colvin. Sadly Marie Lost her life and Paul was very badly Injured but lived to tell the tales. All very powerful stuff and I thought I needed to try and capture this in a musical rollercoaster ride of emotions.
I was considering the art work for the album. In my mind I thought a cover with a war torn scene but what of the happier songs on the album? The artist involved, Marion Smith, Suggested, after viewing the song titles, how about a dark derelict side and sunny side of a street?, that intregued me so I said experiment with it. So when I was presented with the end result I was delighted with it. It depicts a Storm and city in the distance aflame and a sunny and bombed out side of the street. It pulls together the mood of the album to go hand in hand with the 5 part epic.. Ying and Yang, good and bad.
So the album was ready to go? right? wrong! A musician friend of mine said that if I needed any bass work done to contact him. So I did for one song and it worked well and asked him if he'd like to do the rest
So, at the eleventh hour I drafted in Dave Shelton to come and play Bass. It has made such a difference to the overall sound of the recordings with Dave's input.
So, without further ado, I present to you 'Unforeseen Circumstances'. Album number 2 from Fabric of Reality Project.
