J.S. Tolar - Dark Eternal Future (2019)

J.S. Tolar is a Virginia-based solo artist who meanders between the rock and metal genres, featuring lashings of progressive influence inspired by the likes of Dream Theater, Katatonia, and Porcupine Tree. He also draws influence from other dark multimedia projects, with the psychological horror video game, Silent Hill also playing a pivotal role in how he also injects anxiety-inducing atmosphere into his projects. A natural born storyteller, Tolar’s music is narrated by the stretch of his imagination, which is known to run completely wild in most given circumstances. Vivid imagery and compelling storytelling mark the very core of Tolar’s music, and the studio is his canvas for the dark, cerebral energy that lays dormant within his mind, until it is transcribed to notes and melodies. For Tolar, music is his solace, and has always been his guide for finding his way out of hard life events. He’s always found that music has a profound ability to offer perspective and hope to an otherwise dreary situation.

J.S. Tolar is currently sitting on one album that he released in 2013, titled ‘The Continuum’. Notably, this project was entirely self-composed and self-produced. Fast forward 6 years, and Tolar has enlisted an all-star lineup of talented artists to bring his sophomore album ‘Dark Eternal Future’ to life. For this project, he has Andrew Bennett on drums, Michael Hallam featuring on bass guitar for two songs, Tess Savigear on additional voices, and Marc Frigo as mastering engineer. The album is due for release across all major streaming platforms on November 22nd 2019.

Further, J.S. Tolar is also part of another project fronted by Tess Savigear called Visions Of Nell, who have an upcoming release in 2020.
