Con Rinascimento i Trancendental ampliano lo spettro d’azione dei precedenti Deposizione e del pluripremiato Hamam – Il bagno turco, colonna sonora dell’omonimo film. Superati simbolicamente i confini del bacino mediterraneo, affiorano per la prima volta sapori ispirati alle manifestazioni trance provenienti dall’est Europa e dall’Asia, a suggerire una sempre più vasta frontiera musicale. Rinascimento è inoltre rappresentativo delle numerose collaborazioni che hanno contraddistinto il progetto Trancendental nei tre anni precedenti: oltre ai fedelissimi Agricantus e Faisal Taher, si aggiugono quindi il polistrumentista Paolo Modugno dei Brothers, il percussionista Giovanni Lo Cascio, il violinista Massimo Silanus, il cantante berbero Nour-eddine Fatty e il coro armeno Bakarah Ensemble. Da segnalare, oltre alla titletrack, le versioni di “Drentu de ti” e “Lost muzak”, tratte dal film Elvjs & Merilijn, il rinnovato raga di “Istanbul Uyurken”, cantato da Rosie Wiederkher, già tema del film Hamam – Il bagno turco, e “Regiment Rex” con l’intervento della libanese Dunya Yusuf, tributo al disco My life in the bush of ghosts, quasi a tracciare un ideale filo di congiunzione tra la ricerca sonora della coppia Eno-Byrne e quella dei Trancendental.
