Biography
India-born Bikram Ghosh is a master of the tabla. In addition to performing and recording as a soloist, Ghosh has worked with such top-ranked Indian musicians as Ravi Shankar, Aki Akbar Khan, V.M. Bhatt and Tatun Bhattacharya. Ghosh has been surrounded by music throughout his life. His mother, Sanjukta Ghosh, is a classical Indian singer, while, his father, Pandit Shankar Ghosh, was one of the first Indian musicians to perform in the United States, has, and has directed an all-drum orchestra since 1976. At the age of two years old, he used his father's tablas as a childhood toy. Four years later, he formally studied the sarod under Ali Akbar Khan's son, Ustad Dhyanesh Khan. Although he later studied mrdangam under Pandit S. Shekhar, the tabla has remained his instrument of choice. Ghosh, who performed his first concert in Calcutta at the age of ten, spent most of his early years in San Rafael, California. Returning to India to attend middle school, he played congas in school bands. In the Spring of 1997, Ghosh toured the United States with Ravi Shankar. Later that year, he toured with Tatun Bhattacharya. Ghosh holds a msters degree in English Literature. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi

Bickram Ghosh
Bikram Ghosh is probably the greatest tabla player to ever perform at the Chicago Symphony Hall …..Chicago Tribune
World famous percussionist and New- age star, Bickram Ghosh is ranked amongst the greatest Tabla players of our country. Equally brilliant within traditional as well as experimental genres, Bickram has carved out a unique niche for himself in his diverse avataars as classical musician, new – age artiste and composer. He is heralded as a multi-talented virtuoso. His already huge body of work in diverse artistic areas such as classical performances( he has played with literally every top hindusthani and Carnatic Classical artist in the country- especially Pt Ravi Shankar with whom he performed for 11 years) ,new- age experimental music( he is widely considered a pioneer in this area), recordings( over 100), film scoring( 14 films in Hindi and Bengali), Documentary scoring, Television work, Acting( he has appeared as hero or guest actor in 5 films) and Brand ambassador ( he was brand ambassador for the election commission for the 2011 polls in west bengal) has established his reputation as one of the most versatile artists of today. Son and disciple of the great Tabla maestro-Pandit Shankar Ghosh, Bickram has also learnt the nuances of Carnatic percussion from Pandit S. Sekhar. He performed for over a decade with the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar who honed his skills in the art of accompaniment.
Bickram is widely considered to be one of the greatest ambassadors of the tabla today. While his achievements as a classical tabla player ( who has performed for years with the greatest of names like Pandit Ravi Shankar,
Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma and literally every other top name in the music world) have brought him widespread admiration and respect, his pioneering work in the field of new-age music have brought him an iconic status amongst the youth of the country and also among audiences who are not avid listeners of classical music. In fact it is widely acknowledged that his work in this field has created a revival of interest in classical music and many of those who only swayed to the rhythm and melodies of film and popular music now are drawn to this new form of classical-based fusion that Ghosh has created. The versatility of this dynamic artist also extends to film, television, teaching and modelling. Other than Ustad Zakir Hussain, he is the only other tabla player who is approached for endorsement projects which cash in on his popularity. Through his manifold activities he has been able to raise the status , respect and admiration associated with the age-old Tabla manifold. In his own words, “It is important that we present our Indian traditions to the next generation in a form which makes being Indian trendy and attractive. It is only when the youth are drawn in will they actually realise the depth of our own culture. We must present the greatness of our culture to them in a manner which is contemporary and creates a sense of pride in them. Otherwise they will gradually become more and more alienated.”
Bickram has been recently awarded the second highest west bengal state civilian award of Banga Bhushan . https://www.bickramghosh.com/about.php

Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya
Indian Raga Music thrives on improvisation. No two performances by the same musician produce the same result. For a musician with substance, therefore, the sky is the limit. His improvisations within the framework of a Raga or within the limitations of the instrument he plays become a novel experience for himself as well as his listeners. Some go beyond Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya and open new horizons in the field of their work. Debashish Bhattacharya is one such most amazing music personalities of the world whose dynamism of artistry and creativity place him as a Genius.
Pandit Debashish BhattacharyaBlessed by the genes of his vocalist parents belonging to the My childhood - My Musicfamily of musicians for generations, Debashish carries music in his veins. His brother Subhasis is an exponent of Tabla and other rhythm instruments. Sutapa, his sister, is a very popular singer who during her first tour abroad has been popular in Japanese and Canadian festivals.
His debut at the age of four was broadcast by All India Radio, Calcutta, and was blessed by the late Ustad Karamatullah Khan of Farukhabad Gharana who accompanied him on the Tabla. At twenty he received President of India Award for winning National Music competition of All India Radio. Debashish, in his thirties only, was awarded the Top Grade, the ultimate honour by the Prasar Bharati Ministry of information and Broadcasting of India. His charisma as a Musician, Composer, Innovator, Revolutionary, Guru, and the Director of international slide Guitar Parivar (family) has attracted devotees of music from all the nooks and corners of the world.
He immensely influenced the imaginative ability of his fellow musicians. As a powerful slide guitarist he has already set a new trend among fellow musicians. The composer in him does not believe in the East and the West in music. Universal Human Music is his faith and he believes that it gives peace and joy to the believers.
The performer in Debashish has the rare ability to communicate to each one of his listeners through his instrument in every performance. He has introduced a new finger style as well as playing style combining thumb and index finger. This produces finest bole variety, fastest Taanas, and strongest Jhala, which were technically impossible on a slide guitar earlier. A dedicated Guru and pathfinder Debashish has written a syllabus on Indian Classical Guitar, the first of its kind, which includes technical terminologies and abbreviations.
Debashish's uncanny sense of musical understanding has established him as a recording artiste whose perfect musicality matches all categories of music be it Indian, or any kind of classical, jazz, blues, folk or Nue Music.
He is perhaps the only phenomenon in the History of The World Music and Indian Classical Music who created a TRINITY OF SLIDE GUITARS. Christened as CHATURANGUI, GANDHARVI, and ANANDI, these, according to Bob Brozman are "the new arms and ammunitions to fight against ignorance".
