The crown jewel of this record is the final track, “New Hell” a 10-minute track that sounds like the wavering sounds before the final collapse. Its swaying sounds become the introduction to the song folding in on itself and cracking itself open once again to show its pulp. As the track grows, its lyrics encapsulate the whole album’s theme, “Is this our new hell? Are you my bad dream?”
Throwing their weight around, this album brings out the very best of Greet Death and what the Michigan scene has to offer. The melodic slowcore and post-hardcore sensibilities make this record a solid standout and bring a level of artistry and emotion that is palpable. Greet Death is also embarking on a tour that will end in Lansing, and tickets are available to purchase, and the record is available to steam everywhere.
