Winners of the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest, Secret Garden are Irish-Norwegian duo Fionnuala Sherry and Rolf Løvland, who gave the world one of the most covered songs of recent decades, “You Raise Me Up.” In contrast to 2014’s stripped-back Just the Two of Us, their tenth original album features a host of superb guest musicians, including vocalists Espen Grjotheim, Brian Kennedy, and Cathrine Iverson, as well as the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Highlighted by songs from Løvland’s musical The Pilot, scheduled to premiere in 2021, this compelling recording by the pair boasts smooth melodies, soaring orchestral writing, and a haunting touch of old Ireland.
