The centuries-old technique of hatching creates plasticity and spatiality by superimposing and arranging lines of certain densities. If this principle is now transferred to the music, musical gestures emerge from a differentiated arrangement of lines - exclusively lines. The generation of movements by means of discontinuous pitch gradients is completely abandoned, followed by continuous gradients - the multiple superimposition of lines of various shapes produces sound gestures of expressive physicality and haptic quality.

The accordion, the sonic center in "Schraffur", is a breathing body. The opening and closing of the bellows allows the simplest articulation possibility, namely the rise and fall of the tone. Also, breathe lines. When a line is drawn, it manifests the energy of meeting pen and paper, just as the musician makes the air vibrate with his physical exertion.
