Leigh was the warm up DJ for four years at Heaven kicking off with the Urban Torque club night from 1999, featuring a dream team of residents including Juan Atkins, Justin Robertson and Craig Richards, before launching the Urban Torque label with founder Jason Moore in 2001. UT was home to some of the best electronic records of the 2000s and became a byword for a certain type of quality and musicality. This was no doubt due to the savvy A&R skills, artist development and down to earth business approach from Leigh and Jason, whose continued success through troubled times in the industry was testament to the quality of their label.
Leigh continued to run the Urban Torque Transmissions Radio Show whilst carefully learning the production craft, working on his own music at home. Never one to hurry things, always one to wait for just the right moment, finally we get to hear Leigh Morgan's first full length album A Knack For Calamity on Fancy Humans. Featuring 13 tracks of dreamy electronica, dance floor targeted deep house and taking in some downtempo gorgeousness too, A Knack For Calamity is what happens when someone who truly loves house music takes the time to learn how to make it; the results are as high quality as everything else Leig[u][/u]h has done in his music career to date.
