When it first emerged a little over two decades ago, Bossacucanova caused a stir and interest by presenting a creative and original mix of electronic and bossa nova elements. Since then, the trio formed by Alex Moreira, Marcio Menescal and DJ Marcelinho da Lua have released six albums and attracted the attention of the public and critics. The seventh record, "Bossa Got The Blues", features Roberto Menescal, who participated in the entire creative process.
The album was entirely composed by Menescal, his son Marcio, Alex and Marcelinho; The only exception among the 10 tracks was Blues Bossa (Roberto Menescal / J.C Costa Netto). With several special guests, "Bossa Got The Blues" becomes even more special because it is one of Paulinho Trompete's last works, who died in early August after signing the arrangements for "1937", "Train To Ipanema" , “Bossa Got The Blues” and “Vou Nessa”.
Modern since its inception and always open to experimentation, bossa nova gains weight and becomes dancing. The blues joins the mix as a result, mainly, of the influence of Roberto Menescal, who deeply appreciates and understands the American rhythm and its aspects. A flagship of Brazilian music abroad, the bossa is in line with the blues almost bringing back to its land some of what it absorbed in its circulation around the world.
