kirkis - Cézanne by touch (2019)

Landscape painting is more important than ever. A fertile genre as we ride our pony’s into the apocalypse of climate change and virtual space.
Kirkis likens his 3rd album to a landscape of the present, as it constantly rejects us as something that no longer is or has yet to be.
Started in Melbourne, Australia and completed in Floating points studio in London.
Kirkis approaches this body of work like a painter, to which he actually is one, having his first solo offsite exhibition in January of this year.
Two 20 minute tracks utilising tools such as the Buchla music easel , Buchla 200e system and a Rhodes chroma amongst various other modular synth modules, the 2 part album is an electronic instrumental haven removed from structure , featuring Alejandro Abapo on soprano saxaphone.
A sound painting of provocation and reaction itself as to perceive time in change as to affirm existence.
*The front album cover features a hidden message written in braille , as the title ‘Cézanne by touch’ was inspired by the idea that the blind could recognise an artist’s style by touch.
