Florian Glässing - Alte Liebe (2019) [Hi-Res]

Love is a sea. And we are thrown in there, learn to swim and make the seahorse. Or not. Sometimes we fall into it because we have an emotional backpack on our back that pulls us down. But sometimes it is possible to strip off the backpack and feel how another force gently lifts us up into the light. Florian Glässing's songs are about how that works.

His music is reveling and goes to the pinnacle. It relies on sincerity and intimacy, fragile harmonies and clear poetic lyrics. As in a good poem, you discover new facets in a Glässing song even on the tenth hearing - and before you know it, he is a loyal friend whom you like to think about.

Florian was discovered by song poet Tom Liwa in the late 1990s when he was organizing a concert with Liwa. Under the pretext that the announced support (which, of course, never was requested) prevented, he himself appeared in the pre-program. After the concert the two spontaneously decide to continue together with Liwas Tour the next day. As a result, the two play countless joint concerts and record the album LOPNOR (Normal Records, 2002), about which the intro wrote: "This is a sensational album. Point."

When the music industry decided to do away with it for the time being, Florian Glässing turned to literature and translated and proofread novels - always with Tom Liwa's sentence in mind: "You'll never stop making music." Tom should be right.

In 2011, Glässing met the singer / songwriter Desiree Klaeuken and wrote and produced the songs for her critically acclaimed debut WHEN THE NIGHT HIDDEN THE DAY (Tapete Records, 2014). Together they went on tour with Niels Frevert, Gisbert to Knyphausen, Cäthe and The Highest Railway.

At the same time, he is now working on his own music and will be releasing the 2016 EP WO DER SCHATZ LIEGT. During the last two years he has been producing the longplayer ALTE LIEBE: Ten wild romantic songs, in which he deals with vain love and injured masculinity, while Indie-Folk dresses in jazzy-poppy robes - and in the end everything with a pinch of Americana strewed.
