We are proud to present ’THE BEST ELECTRONIC ALBUM IN THE WORLD… EVER!’ which over 60 tracks includes some of the most influential songs ever recorded.
The emergence of the synth pop and dance music exploded in the late 70’s. Dancefloors were changed forever in 1977 when the pulsating and hypnotic ‘I Feel Love’ by Donna Summer showed the way forward, the track is included here alongside synth-driven dance cuts from Lipps Inc and Tom Tom Club and late 70s synth-pop classics from The Buggles and Blondie.
The dawning of the 1980’s saw the new romantics fusing club culture with synth music and the charts were suddenly full of exciting new bands presenting ice-cool hits that have become timeless pop classics. This collection includes The Human League, Soft Cell, Visage, Heaven 17, Tears For Fears, Japan, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Thompson Twins, The Psychedelic Furs and Landscape.
The synthesizer allowed artists to experiment and the 80s saw some of the most experimental tracks become truly influential hits. Included here are some amazing examples from Yello, Martha & The Muffins, The Passions, Swansway and Yoko Ono’s epic ‘Walking On Thin Ice’.
Established acts also embraced an electronic soundscape on key tracks and The Cure, Simple Minds, Phil Lynott, Joe Jackson and the mesmerising ’The Day Before You Came’ by Abba are all featured on this album.
By the mid 80s the synth was the key ingredient of pure pop and Dead Or Alive, Falco, Marilyn and Philip Oakey’s collaboration with the creator of ‘I Feel Love’, Giorgio Moroder are all present.
Some of the most exciting electronic music was created when electronic sequencers were merged with hip hop beats and lyrics to create electro tracks that became the soundtrack to the breakdancing craze of the early 80s. Herbie Hancock, The Rock Steady Crew, Ollie & Jerry, The Dazz Band and the hugely influential ‘Buffalo Gals’ by Malcolm McLaren are all included.
An exhilarating journey through ice-cold synth classics – ‘The Best Electronic Album In The world… Ever!’ is essential to any pop fan’s collection.
