Dominique Dillon De Byington, aka Dillon, was 19 when she started releasing her first songs. In 2011 she released her debut album "This Silence Kills", a record created from years of songwriting and landing her critical acclaim for her 'chason pop' and 'sensual electronics, being vocally compared to Feist, Bjork and Joanna Newsom. For her 2nd record, "The Unknown", the Brazilian-born but Berlin resident suffered from writer's block, which she was only able to outwrite through an intense act of self-discipline. Thematically, "The Unknown" is the continuation of Dillon's debut, yet their writing and production processes could not have had less in common, and the record featured more abstract lyrics while placing more focus on creating a more minimalistic electronic landscape for her voice and her delicate piano-playing to unfold it. Now, Dillon returns with her 3rd album "Kind", produced and partially written with long-term collaborator Tamer Fahri Ozgönenc, New York based producer Nicholas Arthur Weiss and Swiss producer Samuel Savenberg. "Kind" deals with love and how to recuperate through as well as from it. Brass instruments are impactfully deployed as Dillon creates her own musical symbol system, which, from a certain point onwards, defies all interpretation. It is about the intensity of her voice and words and about being captured by both. Kind is the preliminary pinnacle of a unique personal and artistic growth, in which her enigmatic and in particular fashion, electronically grounded pop, reaches a breathtaking intensity. "
