Also in the CD volXmusik InnStrumented of the Tyrolean chamber orchestra InnStrumenti, the name says it all: all compositions deal in one way or another with an encounter of contemporary "classical" music with folk music. Thus, this sound carrier spans a very special sound arc, starting from regions that are still characterized by the (alpine) folk music in a special way: As an Austrian reference for the study of folk music traditions in the second half of the 20th century is without doubt Werner Pirchner ( 1940 to 2001). His 100 practical compositions for good orchestra were intended as a modular long-term project that he could no longer complete. The composer himself combined 13 of the pieces into a suite that makes the personal style of Pirchner audible in all its facets. The renowned South Tyrolean composer Eduard Demetz (1958) focuses on the accordion with a central alpine instrument in Paravis, whose sounds he alienates together with those of the clarinet and bass clarinet via live electronics. Luka Juhart masters the very demanding solo part on the accordion brilliantly. The East Tyrolean musician and composer Romed Hopfgartner (1976) presents with his secular suite the only concert so far for the Styrian harmonica and chamber orchestra. For the solo part of the four-movement work, Franz Posch was one of the most famous Austrian musicians in the genre of folk music. More committed to the avant-garde are the sounds of the native Carinthian Bruno Strobl (1949), who in his work PAW can incorporate folk music gestures, but the solo instrument Zither in connection with numerous new, virtuoso playing techniques - mastered by the experienced soloist Martin Mallaun sovereign - completely the traditional context of folk music.
