Aspects of traditional country music interlaced with a modern lyrical delivery allow this EP to tell a story of growing up, moving on, and coming home.

Tumbleweed Town is Racyne Parker's debut EP. The collection of five songs interlaces aspects of traditional country, a unique vocal delivery, and contemporary lyrical arrangements, to create a modern country sound.

"I wrote this little album over the course of those years where it feels like there is a lot of pressure to figure out what you’re going to do with your life. The direction I was heading at that time was towards a future that I wasn’t sure that I really wanted, and I was a mess trying to figure it out back then. So, I wrote about it and the first song that I wanted on this EP was born.

Some say that those years are the best years of your life, and maybe that’s true. Don’t get me wrong, I had some truly wonderful moments during that time – moments when I was surrounded by genuine people at a time when we were the best versions of ourselves, full of ‘Girls Like That’ confidence and sense of self-worth. But there were also big moments of heartbreak, which inspired the second track on this EP, and smaller, more subtle moments of loss that I didn’t see coming, which served as the inspiration for ‘Down to the River.’

In retrospect, those years are a bit of a blur now and as I get more distance from them, I have realized that Tumbleweed Towns exist everywhere, not just as small towns, but as the place you are now – the place where everything and nothing happen at the same time. And, importantly, it’s the people who you surround yourself with that bring meaning to that place, who pull you through when the mess is overwhelming, and who bring out the best version of you.

This EP is the foundation that I’m excited to continue to build upon, with a newfound sense of direction and an idea of what I want to do with my life – and I hope that it finds you in your Tumbleweed Town, wherever that is, at a time when you need it most."
