This is hardly the first Bow Wow Wow anthology. It's not even the first to use the title of their biggest single as part of the title (as if to say, irritatingly enough, "This is how you probably remember the group"). Castle's I Want Candy: Anthology is a two-disc set, with the best-of material bleeding into the first third of the second disc, and 15 songs from a performance in Japan filling out the rest of the space. So, in effect, it's one of those sets that attempts to appeal to everyone. Hardcore fans might want the live stuff, and they might be drawn to the 12" versions of "Go Wild in the Country" and "Aphrodisiac" that are included, but they won't want an nth copy of "I Want Candy" or "C30, C60, C90, Go!" Those who just want the hits will be more than pleased, but they won't be interested in most of the second disc. For those in the U.S., RCA's 1996 Best Of remains the most desirable entry route.
