Two years after a first noteworthy album, the pop entity Las Aves is back with a new album, a striking modern and disenchanted romance. Their first album Die In Shanghai produced by Dan Levy, one half of the Franco-Finnish duo The Do, had left a brazen lasting mark on the all too often well-behaved and isolated pop scene. And so this hybrid music was to be illustrated through a series of clips following groups of girls across the globe, including the memorable hit N.E.M..
For over a year, the white birds were all over Europe (including Eurockéennes, Sziget Festival, Liverpool Sound City, Great Escape, Vieilles Charrues) and China for a series of concerts outstanding in their modernity, unapologetically combining raging guitars, electronic cavalcades and futuristic RnB. Then, for one year, the band immersed themselves into the mysterious abysses of a Parisian studio. They're now back up to the surface, bathing in glittering pink waters, to radically take on the impossible theme of Love.
Produced by the free electron of hardcore techno Lucien Krampf (Casual Gabberz, Oklou) and mixed by the Brit Geoff Swan (Charli XCX, Grimes), "I’ll never give up on love until I can put a name on it" surprises with its unabashed originality, revealing rave spectres from the 2000s, while invoking the cosmetic pop lamentations of the great American divas.
