The sequence for Ascension Day Ascendo ad patrem meum by Arnolt Schlick is an important Renaissance virtuoso organ composition, which demands much of both the musician and the instrument. If this requirement is met, this piece wonderfully demonstrates the versatility and rich sound of this time as well as of the organ. For this reason, Ascendo ad patrem meum is included on the PASCHENrecords publication of the same name, with which the new Bernhardt Edskes organ of the collegiate church in Neustadt an der Weinstraße is portrayed. Aside from Schlick's eponymous work, the organist Simon Reichert performs various pieces from the Renaissance and Baroque period by composers such as Schlick, Sweelinck, Buxtehude, and Bach. Two years after the publication of "Trio Sonatas", the second CD of the organist and district choirmaster of the Protestant church district Neustadt/Weinstraße is now released. Reichert, an award-winning organist of international competitions, achieves to present the extensive sound spectrum of the organ with his virtuoso performances. A special recording which should not be left out in any music enthusiast's collection!
