Flash amazonas is a Japanese-Colombian duo consisting of musicians Ryota Miyake (CRYSTAL/Sparrows) and Julián Mayorga. Formed in 2016 during their time as residents at the Montreal's Red Bull Music Academy, the project builds up a escherian bridge between Japan and Colombia, gathering elements from LatinAmerican traditional music, punk, Japanese new-wave, synth pop and old school bolero.
‘Binary Birds and Other Rubbish Surreal Things”, their first LP, was released via In-Correcto, an emerging Colombian label.
The –one of a kind– record reveals itself as a hallucinogenic spiral, a trilingual (Japanese, Spanish and English) exorcism where giant babies, underwater parties, binary birds and alien spaghetti western characters join together. A very cheeky, colorful and funny album, that sums up very well the nature of project. The album will be edited in a cassette + walkman edition designed by Spanish-Colombian collective Poetas Menores.
