One of the leading interpreters of the music of the Americas, PollyFerman continues to captivate audiences with her outstandingperformances of works by Gottschalk, Nazareth, Gershwin, Villa-Lobos,Ginastera and Piazzolla. Her mastery of this literature prompted The Japan Times to recognize her as "a Musical Ambassador of the Americas".

Ferman's extensive tours as a soloist have included performances with the orchestras of Indianapolis, St. Petersburg, Jerusalen, Tokyo City, Jarkow (Ukraine), the Philippines, Sâo Paulo State, the National Symphony of Argentina, Teatro SODRE of Montevideo, as well as recitals
in New York, Paris, London's St. Martin in the Fields, Berlin, St. Petersburg, Tokyo's Suntory and Takemitsu halls, Virginia's Wolf Trap,Manila, Beijing, Jerusalem, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. She was the only soloist selected to play at the Pan American Games of 1992, where she performed Villa-Lobos with the Indianapolis
Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Ferman's recent collaborations include Duo appearances with bandoneónist Daniel Binelli, as a guest artist of Binelli's Quintet and Tango Metropolis and as a soloist in the "Orquestango" project, in multiple tours of Europe, Japan, the United States and Australia.

Polly Ferman's many recordings constitute one of the most extensive collections of solo Latin American repertoire and are available on Music Masters, Musical Heritage Society, PAMAR, Talent Romeo Records, EPSA Music and Sondor. She is also the founder of PAMAR (Pan American Musical Art Research, Inc.), a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to promote better understanding among the various countries and cultures of the Americas.

Ferman began her musical studies at the age of three in her native Uruguay, giving her first recital at seven and winning the Jeunesses Musicales Competition at the age of nine. She attended the J.S. Bach Conservatory as a pupil of Santiago Baranda Reyes. Later she studied with Celia Bronstein in Buenos Aires and Eugene List and William Daghlian in New York City.
