Biography
With a carefully crafted selection of soul-driven, electronic-tinged tunes under his sleeve, 20 year old producer & multi-instrumentalist Hemai is debuting in 2019 with a flurry of jazz hop.

Born and bred in the UK's second capital Birmingham, Louie Hemus has found a home as part of the thriving UK jazz & electronic scene. Over the past year and a bit, Hemai has put his trust into telling his messages through music and instrumentation.

He recorded the sun-blissed tunes alongside The Heliocentric's very own engineer Malcolm Catto and Lou’s most trusted musicians, inviting them to be a part of his journey. His 21 year old brother, Samuel Hemus, was a fundamental part of the project, who makes Hemai's grooves and beats come to life- alongside one of his closest friends, Ellis Lawrie, who laid down the silky smooth basslines that lay the foundations for Hemai's infectious grooves. Having grown up around jazz culture & learning guitar from an early age, Hemai's biggest influences are greats like Herbie Hancock, D'Angelo, Zero 7, Corinne Bailey Rae and the Gilberto’s.

The burgeoning producer will be making the move to the big city lights of London in the summer, already working on new music to follow up his debut release.
