"Transit" is a collection of songs written by Meredith Crawford, featuring several wonderful East Texas and Nashville musicians. Opening the album is a lyrical article about the East Texas Black Widow, "Betty Lou" Beets, featuring Tad Phillips on harmonica. It then opens up into a reminiscent 60's Pop track, "Best Kept Secret", featuring Michael Graham on background vocals, Cristina Gonzalez on bass, Chase Barrett on electric guitar, and Curtis Beekley on drums. Softly, with Chris Rasco on electric guitar, it transcends into "If You Are The One", featuring Byron Owens on bass and Heather Little's truly angelic background vocals. It then dives into a gravely heartache, "9 Year Ache", featuring Jeff & Chris Gafford, an incredible father-son rhythm team, on bass and drums respectively. Track 5, "Heart That Takes You High" features the lightening licks of Mr. Johnny Hiland, an esteemed and seasoned Nashville studio musician that we were very fortunate to have featured on the record. Following is the album track title, "Transit", featuring Chris Rasco on electric guitar, and Jeff & Chris Gafford on bass and drums. "Ransom" spikes a synth-y, 80's New wave feel as Chris Rasco creates the infamous "bug on drugs" solo, while Darrell Edwards kicks the keys in the teeth. "Wreck You Can't Fix" features Darrell Edwards on electric guitar creating a melancholy tremolo trip. "Eleven Years" is a sorrowful recollection of hometown heartache featuring Meredith Crawford on keys and Heather Little on backing vocals. "I Do My Own" is a raunchy and rocky song featuring Chase Barrett on electric guitar, Michael Graham on drums, and the soulful vocals of Takara Sells & Wynetta Rainey Boyd. "American Dream" is a musical picture of a still frame of America, swirled with the beautiful electric guitar textures of Chris Rasco and Darrell Edwards, and the moody bass of Cristina Gonzalez. "Try Me" is a story song of a troubled mother looking for a way out of the rural South, featuring the aching swells of the steel guitar by Josh Owen, as well as Chase Barrett on electric guitar. Ending this record on a dramatic note, Meredith Crawford on keys and Darrell Edwards on the song's string arrangement; "Two Way Street" is a dynamic instrumental piece that truly defines the loneliness of one-sided love and longing.
