Blair Mathews - Summer Heartbeat (2019)

Fueled by an unwavering work ethic, and refined and strengthened by growing up on a small farm, Blair Mathews' creative journey led to the release of his debut, self-penned country radio single, "It's About Us," on Stoneyhill Records. The song is from his CD released in the spring of 2014. Blair worked on the project with Grammy Award winner Chad Carlson, whose impressive credits include work with Taylor Swift, Trisha Yearwood and The Hunger Games soundtrack.

Mathews grew up in the north west and his first musical memories are hearing the songs of Waylon Jennings, Tom T. Hall and Merle Haggard. Learning to play drums as a child, he went on to front rock bands throughout high school and toured extensively after college at Trinity University Mathews became a successful demo singer and jingle writer, composing and recording numerous ads heard on radio stations across the U.S.

Turning his attention fully to country music, Mathews continued to write and record in Scottsdale, Arizona. His songs ultimately caught the attention of Chad Carlson, who put together a stellar group of musicians for the tracking sessions at Nashville's legendary Sound Emporium Studios, where countless country radio hits have been recorded.

Carlson was impressed with the strong songwriting and contemporary approach Mathews brought to the table. "Blair writes personal, real-life songs," said Carlson. "He somehow finds a way to fuse a rock style into current country music."

Blair has since moved to Nashville and continues to work with Chad at Sound Emporium. He also works with Grammy Award winning Producer Luke Wooten at Station West Studios (producer for Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley as well as the sound track for the hit TV show "Nashville").
