Reamonn - Beautiful Sky (2003)

Another great album reserved for those who have been lucky enough to 'stumble' across this fantastic, predominantly German band (the lead singer, Rea Garvey is Irish though). All tracks are of course in English so why they have not been promoted in English speaking continents who knows!
The album starts with a moody intro which joins into the title track 'Beautiful Sky' which is verging on pop/rock but with a great hook in the chorus. The track 'Star' is more of a ballad/rock track, again brilliantly executed with precision vocals. The next five tracks are of equal standard. Very cathchy chorus's and probably best described as a mix of prog/alternative and pop rock. The album continues to ooze quality to the end. The bonus track 'Back Again' is a rock/bluesy song spontaniously recorded after the band had completed the album and this signs the set off perfectly (one of the best on the album and I hate the blues!). I've bought my mate this album who in turn has bought two more copies. My neighbour has also ordered it having heard it once.
Don't miss this one (or their previous two albums) and you too can have discoved one of musics most overlooked/understated treasures. Only wish I could see them live but they only seem to tour in Germany. Buy it - you'll definitely love it.
