Tracy Kash - Fierce (2019)

Tracy Kash delivers some serious grooves in this latest release, especially with the help of her stellar band, the Bro' Fo's (Pat Shanley, guitar; Chuck Bartels, bass; Van Hunsberger (drums). Anyone would be hard-pressed to sit still listening to such groovers as "You Can't Come to My Party" or "Face Time", two parts James Brown, two parts Ray Charles. Surprisingly, the more mellow, self-reflective selections are equally compelling especially given the beautiful melodies and stunning arrangements on display. This album is a wonderful mix of a wide variety of styles - world, pop, jazz, blues and more - definitely something for everyone. It most certainly reflects the unbelievably broad musical background possessed by this talented multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/composer.
