Hidden Lines' is the debut album from rising jazz/electronica outfit Kinkajous, the sublime, interwoven melodies and drums invoke the likes of Steve Reich, Floating Points and BADBADNOTGOOD.
The London based quintet (led by saxophonist/clarinettist Adrien Cau and drummer/producer Benoît Parmentier, joined by pianist Maria Chiara Argirò, bassist Andres Castellanos and Jack Doherty on synths) conjure a passionate, introspective and powerful music, that draws from their shared love for jazz and electronic music.
The album includes the soaring, futuristic teaser single "Jupiter", and singles "Black Idiom Pt. 2", ethereal and arresting, as well as the triumphantly energetic "Loke". 'Hidden Lines' was recorded by Jordan Rakei drummer Jim Macrae and mixed by producer Brendan Williams (GoGo Penguin/Dutch Uncles)
Released on Running Circle, home of Yazmin Lacey and Pete Beardsworth, it follows two critically acclaimed EPs, 'Kinkajous' and 'Staring at the Odds', which have gained support from Gilles Peterson (Worldwide.fm), Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2), Chris Philips (Jazz FM), Don Letts (BBC 6Music), Nick Luscombe (BBC Radio 3) and have been acclaimed by Stamp The Wax, London Jazz and CLASH Magazine.
