The Saxons is one of the more than 500 beat groups that existed in Britain between 1963 and 1966. They started, like so many others, in a "skiffle" band, in the late 50s. The founders were, Keith Jacks, Mick Platt, Dennis McBride, Allan Taylor, and Tommy Worth. Keith, Mick, and Dennis left the group to go on to play rock, and were replaced by Gerry Cook, who composed many songs for the group, Dave Bruce, and Colin Mac. The group was well known, at least in their area, South Essex neighborhood, West Ham area. His most memorable performance was at the Victoria Palace Theater, with the occasion of a show by Songwriters Guilds', a guild of composers. They only recorded an album, with Decca, "Meet The Saxons", and that is now very coveted by collectors.
Le Group 5, they are not French, as the name may suggest at the time of reading the name, they come from the center where the "mersey" sound was born, that is Liverpool, like the well-known Beatles, although Le Group is not family for anyone, although one of its components if it was something more famous in the 80s, the guitarist Tony Atkins, who was in several groups. The other members were, Brian Norman, Anthony Stephan Judd, and John Colin Forcey. They also recorded a single album, and also, in a French record company, with hardly any commercial repercussion, although it has the merit of being a direct one (although you will notice that it seems a false direct), and in its native city, from there that the disc is called , in a curious mixture of English and Spanish, "En Direct de Liverpool"
