The music of Malacara melts into a rainbow. From darkness to dim light that reflects hope. It wallows in nostalgia, sinks in a bitter optimism. Weather sailor battered by wounds. From Memphis to New Orleans from the 1920s to the 1970s, from plantations, to Chicago's electricity. The days of Little Walter, the nights of Dylan. The poetry of Lorca and the landscapes of Hopper.
Xavi Malacara, a composer who offers daily, pagan stories in search of faith, and narrations of the unspeakable. Evidences of Hank Williams, Charley Patton, Jelly Roll Morton, John Mayall, in the music of Malacara.
Since 2013 with Malacara & Wilson Band, Xavi has released three albums. All, produced by Mario Cobo (The Nu Niles, Locos del Oeste). In "Hopeless Blues" (2015) the first compositions appear. They are a tribute to the best of Blues and "Americana" or traditional roots music. In 2017 they present "Summer Camp Blues". The original lyrics, treat love as a battlefield. In a permanent escape, Xavi dives between prose and disenchantment of loss. Unfinished stories with a certain ending In May of 2019 they released a new album, "Miles Down Blues", a journey that transits between Blues and Folk
