César López needed four years to prepare and compose these pieces for solo piano. On this occasion the artist wanted to offer listeners a unique experience and was recording the entire album with a special helmet that allows him to listen to him as if he were sitting on the piano playing himself.
'Victoria' is the tenth album of the artist produced independently and accounts for the stubbornness and deep love for this profession, but also the need to continue narrating in the midst of any difficulty, sometimes from the piano or the guitar, this step through existence that is so magical.
"Everything happened while I was traveling the country, listening to stories and singing to understand, learn, help heal and heal myself. I incorporated a very particular acoustic experiment based on the decision to put the listener as the center of creative intention and for this I designed a helmet that captures the sound of the piano as I listen to it, recording my rocking or movements, with this I intend to add to the listening experience the possibility of putting on my shoes or better in my ears for a few minutes and not only enjoy the composition exercises but add the possibility of approaching the experience of the moment of recording and the perception of the musician when he plays the instrument that is completely different from the one who listens to him sitting in front on a stage ", commented César.
The work team was made up of excellent professionals such as Julio Monroy, extraordinary sound engineer; José Luis Molina, documentary maker with a sensitive and sharp look, and David Pulido, technical producer who also had the enormous responsibility of building the helmet with all the necessary specifications to ensure that the person who listens to the works could be for a few minutes the pianist of the recording.
The launch concert will take place next Friday, March 22 at 6:00 pm at the National Museum and admission is free.
César López: Born in Bogotá- Cundinamarca, he began his musical career at the age of 8 experimenting with a tiple he found by chance in his home.
His innate talent for music was so evident that from such an early age the conservatory of the National University of Colombia was accepted where he learned to play the piano.
At the age of 14 he decided to set up his first rock band 'Los amantes de Lucía' in which he played the drums (a clear example of his versatility with all the instruments that crossed his path), while continuing his studies in the youth band of the National University. As part of his school in music, César was part of several important projects of Colombian music.
