No One - Fishing for Shadows (2019)

'Fishing for Shadows' is soundscape composer No One's first release with Shimmering Moods. Previous cd's were released by Midira Records and Consouling Sounds.
The source material was recorded, composed and constructed by No One during winter-spring 2017-2018. These initial recordings were then reconstructed, edited and mixed again during summer 2018. This result was then mastered by Raffaele Pezzella.
Brooding and elegant, the stature of No One's innate talent emerges in his treatment of the recordings and atmospheres. Focussing and polishing them into dream-like stories and shifiting forms. Faint sound experiments extend into fleeting figments, while intricate manipulations build, resonate and disperse. More abstract than concrete with echoes of electric piano, organ and strings interwoven with gliding drones and field recordings.
His musical stories feel like soundtracks with room for the listeners to compose their own film. 'Fishing for Shadows' feels like a long walk through shifting landscapes where the sun is often blocked by strange clouds and inviting forests.
