Curtis Knight Zeus - The Second Coming (Reissue) (1974/2009)

Curtis Knight (Mont Curtis McNear, May 9, 1929 - December 29, 1999) was an American musician (from Kansas), well known for collaborating with Jimi Hendrix, whom he discovered in New York and performed with him for 2 years throughout the East Coast USA. After the death of Hendrix, Knight strongly promoted the work of Jimi, wrote books about him. During the 1970s, Curtis moved to London, where he formed his band “Curtis Knight Zeus” and toured Europe. He also confirmed his phenomenal ability to find and develop new talents. Curtis discovered another unknown surprising guitarist, Eddie Clarke, also known as Quick Eddie, who, after working with Curtis Knight, became world famous with the “Motorhead” band. Curtis Knight signed a contract with “Pye Records” in 1972 and released the album “The Second Coming” on “Dawn Label”. After that the group was disbanded. In the late 70s after the advent of punk rock, he organized the first black punk rock band “Pure Hell”, which quickly became famous in Europe. Later, Curtis worked with a variety of singers and musicians, giving them a chance to declare themselves in the music business. Knight died on December 29, 1999 in Amsterdam, where he lived in recent years.
