On the occasion of her 20th anniversary on April 27, 2019, a digital album with highlights by the great Hungarian-Swiss soprano Maria Stader will be released. At the same time the Gelblabel reminds of a brilliant composer who died 150 years ago and stood for a long time in the shadow of the romantic giants of the 19th century. In the musical world public rather a marginal figure, Carl Loewe is considered by connoisseurs as a kind of "Schubert of the North" and gifted song composer.

Singer stars like Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Brigitte Fassbaender knew the greatness of this composer and immortalized his most important songs in breathtaking interpretations. "Carl Loewe Essentials" brings together 25 classics of the highly productive ballad king, including jewels of poetry like Chamisso"s "He, the Most Glorious of All" in an unrivaled passionate talk by the Berlin mezzo-soprano Brigitte Fassbaender or Goethe"s "Erlkönig" in an impressively dramatic interpretation of the legendary Star Wars Baritons Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.

The lyrical soprano Maria Stader has made a name for herself as a great Mozart interpreter. Her silvery timbre, the honest expression of her singing and the natural agility of her voice were not only suitable for the enchanting arias of the Viennese classic, but also for spiritual repertoire like that of Johann Sebastian Bach.
