Nata in Messico ma cresciuta negli Stati Uniti e infine trasferitasi in Italia, Ely Bruna parla correntemente Spagnolo, Inglese ed Italiano. La sua voce è stata più volte avvicinata a quella di grandi artiste internazionali, una su tutte Whitney Houston. Turnista per molte produzioni Dance negli anni ’90, ha girato il mondo grazie alla sua voce e ha partecipato a molte trasmissioni televise in Italia. E’ autrice anche per Mario Biondi negli album “Handful of soul” e “ I love you more”, insieme al suo produttore Nerio Poggi, in arte Papik, ha co-scritto buona parte dei brani del primo album appunto di Papik “Rhythm of life” tra cui il brano “Staying for Good”, singolo in promozione in questo momento che sta riscuotendo grandi consensi in tutto il mondo. Questo è il primo album a suo nome ed è un lavoro dedicato in gran parte a rifacimenti in stile soul-jazz di brani degli anni ’80 e ‘90. La scelta molto particolare dei brani fa si che si passi da una versione bossa di “Rhythm of the night” ad una versione R&B di “Barbie Girl”. Non poteva mancare un brano come autrice, dal titolo “1986” che è la vera perla del disco.
